Michael Sabat, DO Dr. Michael Sabat originally hails from Cleveland, Ohio, but he has received extensive training from all over the country.
Having completed his undergraduate degree from Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio in a span of 3 years, he immediately went into graduate school at Wright State University. There he earned his Masters in Biology, performing Skin Grafting research to benefit burn victims. He himself had been the recipient of such treament for a burn as a child himself, which fostered his interest in skin and dermatology. Dr. Sabat then went to medical school in Chicago, IL at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and continued to do skin research at Northwestern University studying the etiology of childhood blistering diseases. Dr. Sabat volunteered for service on a Medical Ship in Togo, West Africa for 3 months, where he had the opportunity to use his French Language skills and study tropical medicine. His residency program in Phoenix, Arizona was an ideal place to study and gain experience with skin cancer diagnosis and treatment while also honing his medical and cosmetic dermatology skills. For the past four years, Dr Sabat has worked at Kaiser Permanente in Bakersfield, and most recently, Woodland Hills. We are excited that Dr. Sabat has agreed to join us and hope you will welcome him to Mid Valley Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery Center. |
