Silikon®

Our office uses Silikon 1000, a pure silicone agent made and sold in the United States.

Dr. Wirtzer has lectured extensively on the use of silicone for skin augmentation and instructed many of his colleagues in the technique.

Used to revise facial scarring and to fill lines and wrinkles and lips, silicone is injected in micro-droplets over a series of visits. After each injection, collagen forms around the silicone creating increased fullness. The collagen formation is permanent.

The injection of Silikon® requires careful technique to avoid complications.  As was described in VOGUE, November, 2005, in an article by Laurie Drake:

”And then a funny thing happened on the way to a linesless face.  Every time I asked these doctors about silicone, I got the same warning: ‘Don’t do it; it can cause lumps and permanent marks later.’  Inevitably, though, the doctors would say, sotto voce, ‘If you do do it, don’t go to anyone but Allan Wirtzer.’”
