Treatment of Hair and Nail Disorders
In addition to the skin, dermatologists are the acknowledged experts in the
comprehensive treatment of hair and nails.
Hair loss can be caused by systemic disease and external injuries, but most often is the result of a genetic predisposition. Treatment is based upon the findings of a careful history, examination and laboratory analysis. Genetically induced hair loss can be treated with FDA approved medications. for medical conditions affecting the nails. A careful exam
