Facelift
Facial skin may wrinkle and sag due to aging and sun damage.
For most people our appearance changes as gravity pulls on
skin loosened by weakened collagen and elastic fibers and
loss of underlying fat deposits. Rhytidectomy, or facelift
surgery, corrects the condition by repositioning both skin
and underlying muscle to re-create youthful contours in both
the face and the neck.
We perform full facelifts and the popular “mini” or “S” lift in our accredited on-site surgical center. Comfort is achieved with local anesthetic and mild intravenous anesthesia. Incisions are made around and behind the ear and, if needed, into the scalp. These incisions allow excess skin to be removed and the surgical scar hidden within normal skin contours. Results improve over the course of 6 months. Patients typically resume non-strenuous activities within 10-14 days following surgery. By following post-operative instructions, swelling and bruising can be minimized.
